Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional therapy that uses dried mugwort (known as moxa) to gently warm specific acupuncture points or areas of the body. The heat helps to promote circulation, support the body’s natural healing processes, and ease discomfort.
Often, moxibustion is used alongside acupuncture to enhance results, but it can also be a highly effective stand-alone therapy—particularly for those who are sensitive to, or prefer to avoid, needles.

What to expect
-
Your practitioner will place or hold a small amount of moxa near the skin, creating a comfortable, penetrating warmth.
-
Most people find the sensation soothing and relaxing.
-
Depending on your needs, moxibustion may be used to support musculoskeletal conditions, digestion, or general wellbeing.

After-care:
-
A sense of warmth or relaxation may continue for several hours after treatment.
-
It’s recommended to stay hydrated and allow your body some rest afterwards.
-
Occasionally, mild redness can appear at the site of application, but this typically fades quickly.
-
To make the most of the session, avoid alcohol or strenuous activity for the rest of the day.
